My girls and I headed out to some local yard sales this morning. We haven’t done this is quiet awhile, but is was such a nice morning, I just couldn’t pass it up.
We didn’t find to many, but we did stumble upon a local church having a yard sale. Now I love a good church yard sale. Those seem to be the best place to find a great deal and sometimes you can find some great treasures.
Today I stumbled upon something really little, at the bottom of a book box, that brought back a FLOOD of childhood memories.
When my sister and I were growing up, we had a portable record player (yes,I’m dating myself). This record player was so much fun. It was a reddish orange color, if I remember right, and it only played 45’s.
One of the 45’s that I loved to play was a Disneyland Little Golden Book & Record called Frosty the Snowman. This wasn’t the Frosty from the claymation movies. It was more of a Dick and Jane illustration. I remember playing this over and over and over again.
So when I saw it today, I had no problem shelling out the .25 cents it cost to bring it home.
I have no record player to play it on, but I plan on keeping it my Christmas media box, just so I can pull it out and look at it every year.
