I had GRAND visions of me in my Martha Stewart type apron, hanging all our wonderful laundry on line. But as the days grew hot and steamy here, those visions faded in the sun.
But with the beautiful weather that we have had here lately, I have been inspired once again to venture outdoors to use God’s dryer.
I grew up under the amazing homemaking guidance of my dear sweet grandmother. As soon as I was walking, just about, I was learning how to cook, how to can, and how to hang laundry. I have great memories of standing under the laundry line handing her clothespins as she told me lots of stories.
I miss her greatly, but it’s those great memories that make going out to the laundry line a joy.
Jeans should been done first. They take longer to dry , so get them out early.
As for family comfort levels.. I have been asked by my DH and my princesses that I at least dry the towels in the regular dryers.
I guess no one enjoyed last weeks ‘cardboard type’ feeling to their towels. LOL.
Another plus to hanging clothes out is it saves money on our gas (we have a gas dryer) and electricity. Yea.. a couple pennies saved is a couple pennies not spent.
