At the end of this week our whole country will be celebrating Independence Day. It’s a day where families gather around the barbeque’s, cook hot dog and hamburgers, and maybe even dip their toes in the pool.
For this Monday With the Mouse, I thought I would share with you how our family celebrated the 4th of July in Disney World and did it without spending a lot of money.
If you’ve ever been to Disney.. doing it cheap takes some planning and imagination.
Two years ago this was our plan of attack and how we executed it.
Arrival at Downtown Disney early afternoon
Enjoy a light lunch and window shopping
Took a quiet boat ride over to Port Orleans hotel
Walked around and checked out the hotel grounds
Road a bus back to Downtown Disney
Did some more window shopping
Grabbed a light dinner
Boarded a bus from Downtown Disney to the Poly Hotel
Once at the hotel we walked out to the beach that sits on the Seven Seas Lagoon
This was the best part!!
The plan was to watch the fireworks that would come from the Magic Kingdom. We had NO idea that they put on a light show and set off fireworks right from the lake.
We had FRONT ROW seats for an AWESOME firework show. They even pipe the music out onto the beach!
It was a great show
Boarded bus back to Downtown Disney – We were happy but VERY TIRED..LOL
The only money spent was on lunch and dinner. All in all it was great day!
