I found At the Well via my friend at Homesteaders Heart. I have been looking for something like this for quiet a while and I look forward to taking part of it in the future if I can.
Being a mom of two of the Kings princesses, I feel a great responsibility to be making sure they are seeing God at work in me so they can desire to follow after Him. Titus 2 has always been a special set of scriptures to me, so I especially look forward to this blog circle.
Here we go..
Welcome back to The Well. It is great to “see” everyone again! Today Lisa over at A Second Generation of Homeschooling is our host today. She has chosen a great topic:
She poses the following questions to us:
1. What daily tasks seem mundane or monotonous to you?
Fixing Dinner has become mundane for me. I LOVE to cook. But lately I just haven’t felt like putting any effort or imagination into it.
2. How can we change our outlook when completing these tasks?
I know I need to involve my girls more. They know how to hold their own in the kitchen, but I really need to encourage them to be in there with me more. I had the idea of making some fun cooking show videos with them to see if that would ignite a fire in us all to be in the kitchen more.
3. What impact do these tasks have on our husband and children? How does it make a difference in their lives?
My DH loves to have a good meal for dinner. It doesn’t have to be huge or costly, just made with love. I know it’s something he really likes, especially after being out at work all day.
4. Is it okay to focus on earthly recognition when completing these tasks for our loved ones, or is receiving an eternal reward sufficient? What does Jesus think is more important? Should that be our focus, as well?
I always tell my girls to always do things heartily unto the Lord. I don’t mind if no one tells me ‘hey mom, dinner was great’, yet a quick Thanks mom is nice to hear every once in awhile (which I do get sometimes).
Jesus didn’t die on the cross so that making dinner for my family would be easier each day. He died so that I may have life and have it abundantly.. That abundance I will receive when I am at HOME with HIM, but it is my joy to be here at this home with my family.. and doing things.. even making dinner.. heartily unto the Lord.
