I’m one of those people who when I first wake up, I’m not completely awake. My normal routine of things is to let our dogs out and go sit on our back porch swing while they go about their business.
Well, as the sleepy fog was lifting in my head this morning, I noticed that my dogs had found something out in the yard that had truly caught their attention. If your an owner of any kind of hound dog, you can tell when they have ‘found’ something.
I slipped on some sandals and made my way out to where they were and I as I got close, my heart just broke.
They had found a precious baby owl.
Now I know they didn’t kill it because there was just tail wagging going on when they found it, no barking and other stuff.
This little guy must have tried to take his maiden voyage on his own and got stuck in the small bunch of palm frawns. His brothers and sisters were right above him on the branches wimpering little cries. Ugh. It was all so heartbreaking.
We gently placed it back in the deeper woods where our dogs couldn’t reach. Moments like this are all so sad, but it was amazing to even see this one and his family so close.
They were so small and so beautiful.
"The LORD is good to all; he has compassion on all he has made….
The LORD is faithful to all his promises and loving toward all he has made."
