I love those moments that only God can give. Those moments where your going about your normal routine, even in a devotion, and He surprises you with something that just fills your spirit for days to come.
During my Day 4 devotion in Live Deeply, I had one of these moments. I was reading through a portion of Matthew when I was instructed to look at scripture in a totally different way then I ever had.
” By allowing His followers to come to divine knowledge of Him using their five senses, Jesus provided that He was Messiah. Fill in the following chart to discover which sense Jesus used to reveal Himself to His followers: taste, hearing, sight, touch, or smell.” – Live Deeply
” As they were eating, Jesus took some bread and blessed it. Then he broke it in pieces and gave it to the disciples, saying, “Take this and eat it, for this is my body.” And he took a cup of wine and gave thanks to God for it. He gave it to them and said, “Each of you drink from it, for this is my blood, which confirms the covenant between God and his people. It is poured out as a sacrifice to forgive the sins of many.”
“Six days later Jesus took Peter, James, and John, and led them up a high mountain to be alone. As the men watched, Jesus’ appearance was transformed, and his clothes became dazzling white, far whiter than any earthly bleach could ever make them.”
“Why are you frightened?” He asked. “Why are your hearts filled with doubt? Look at My hands. Look at My feet. You can see that it’s really Me. Touch Me and make sure that I am not a ghost, because ghosts don’t have bodies, as you see that I do.” As He spoke, He showed them His hands and His feet.
“Then Mary took about a pint of pure nard, an expensive perfume; she poured it on Jesus’ feet and wiped his feet with her hair. And the house was filled with the fragrance of the perfume.”
May you be see Jesus reveal Himself in your day to day doings.
May you see Him,
Hear Him, and
Taste the sweet Love of Christ.
In Christ Alone~
