What do you want to do now? What college are you going to? What are your plans for the future?
These are the questions my daughter has been getting since she graduated in May. Does she have answers for all the questions? No, and that’s perfectly OK with me.
I truly don’t believe every child that graduates HAS to go to college. Nor do I think every child is created to go to college. I believe some of us Christians can get caught up in all the ‘what if’s’ of our child’s life.
What if they don’t go to college? What if they can’t find a job? What if they… you complete the question.
But when we get caught up in that, we tend to forget WHO created them, and that He created them with specific talents and gifts for His purpose.
These are the things I want to encourage my daughter to seek out. I want her to seek after God with her whole heart and to find what God’s plan for her life is. I don’t want her answering the question “what do you want to do with your life”, but answer the question, “what does GOD want you to do?” In this I know she’ll find her peace.
You Can Be Everything God Wants You to Be by Max Lucado is a wonderful book that engages this same thought process.
Max Lucado encourages his reader to find what their ‘sweet spot’ is. Find what tailored made purpose God has for them and go for it. Take the passion God has instilled in them and use it for His glory. Stand up and applaud God everyday with your life.
I have ALWAYS loved Max Lucado’s books and You Can Be Everything God Wants You To Be is just another masterpiece of Lucado’s amazing talent.
If you know of a graduate or just someone who is struggling with what they are to do in life, this would be a great gift for them. Go check it out.
