I want you to meet my friend Amy. She is beautiful, money saving mama, who has an adorable little girl and a sweetie of a hubby.
I met Amy at Disney’s Social Media Mom’s conference. We sat at the same table the first night and giggle while Goofy, Daisy, and other Disney characters greeted all the guests and spread some Disney magic. The rest of our time there, we hooked up whenever we could and had a blast. It was one of those times when you just ‘click’ with someone right away. She’s such a sweetheart!
Amy’s blog Saving with Amy is one of my favorite places to find all kinds of great deals! She does coupons match ups for some of the most popular stores – Walmart –Target – Publix and much more. Thanks to Amy, I just printed out some great coupons from Mr. Peanuts on Facebook. My hubby will LOVE this!!
She even has a great Coupon 101 section that has a WEALTH of information for anyone that is new to the whole ‘couponing’ thing.
Amy recently started a series called Coupon Basics 101 where she debunks some of the most popular Myths out there.
Come read along and get to know Amy. Stop by her blog and say hello. Follow her blog and save TONS of money
Traveling back before I started using coupons…. Hanging out with friends from church one night, a few of my girlfriends started talking about their free Covergirl eye shadow at Publix. I did a double take and said “Please! Teach me your ways!” A few of us got together and they went into detail about how coupons can work for you and simple strategies for getting things free or cheap.
It was that day that changed my life forever. But I remember how I felt before I figured it all out. I was VERY skeptical about the trouble that I would have to go through to save that much money. Which brings me to my next myth…
Coupons are just too complicated.
This is a huge factor as to why people do or do not use coupons. Sure, there’s a little thinking involved, but anyone with a brain can most definitely save money!
Information on the web has grown in leaps and bounds over the last few years. In just the last two frugal bloggers have stormed into the online world and are helping people just like this every single day. At least half of the time the work is already being done for you!
I can tell you, I HATE math- but since using coupons I’m pretty sure that it has improved. If you can add and subtract- you can use a coupon.
If you’re really interested in saving a little money, you’ll also be willing to do a little planning. Of course, this can definitely be with the help of bloggers like myself. Making your list and knowing what you’re going to spend will save you time at the store as well.
People just assume that you have to clip a million and one coupons every time that you get a paper- WRONG. To simplify clipping- file your inserts instead of clipping them all. Label them by date for easy reference and use a coupon database to find any coupons you might look for. Trust me- this makes it a lot easier.
The savings you receive from using coupons will reflect how big or how little you put into it. The 50-80% that you’ll be saving is more than worth the little planning that goes into using them.
I’m calling this one- BUSTED!
Thanks Amy! Love ya!
