I picked up this little light at a local thrift store and something about it just warms my heart.
It doesn’t give off much light
and I’ve placed it in the biggest room in our house, so it’s job seems useless in the grand scheme of things
Yet, when I turn it on in the evening and it just gives this small glow to the room.
It may not seem like much, but I just love it.
The other morning, while I was curled up on the couch doing my devotions, I glanced over at my little light..
Although it’s small in such a huge place… it still makes a difference..
It makes me smile and adds a gentle touch of love to this place..
So a thought came to mind..
I have been given an AMAZING gift that lives within me.
Although I feel small and insignificant at times, as long as I allow myself to used by my Maker…
I can add a little something to this big space I live in…
You’re here to be light, bringing out the God-colors in the world. God is not a secret to be kept. We’re going public with this, as public as a city on a hill. If I make you light-bearers, you don’t think I’m going to hide you under a bucket, do you? I’m putting you on a light stand. Now that I’ve put you there on a hilltop, on a light stand—shine! Keep open house; be generous with your lives. By opening up to others, you’ll prompt people to open up with God, this generous Father in heaven.
