Courageous ~ Movie Review–in stores Jan. 17th

Over the past few years, I’ve gotten the opportunity to review a lot of different products.

Books, products for the home, food, and tons others..

But I think I have the most fun reviewing movies.

I was recently blessed to have the opportunity to review the, soon to be released, DVD of Courageous.

My family and I didn’t get a chance to see this in the movie theaters, so getting to watch it home was extremely special.

We popped popcorn and with the advice of a dear friend who had seen it before, brought in a box of tissues.

I’m trying to find the words beyond.. WOW.. and WOW.. and Praise God.. but I just can’t seem to find them.

From a mother’s heart and a wife’s point of view, I whole heartily give this thumbs a DOUBLE THUMBS UP! Sherwood Forest has put together an inspiring movie that will make you laugh, cry, and lift your hands in worship all at the same time.

While watching this movie, I sat amazed at the level of storytelling, interaction, and flat out good movie know how this group of church volunteers has put together.

The story is one that will tug at any mother’s heart and, hopefully, stir a father into wanting more out of his life and walk with God. I know that my husband was deeply moved by this movie and has told others about it.

Courageous tells the story of four men, with one calling. To serve and protect. As police officers they stand up to the worst the streets have to offer. Yet at the end of the day, they face a challenge that they truly are not prepared for: Fatherhood. After a tragic accident, these men are left to face their fears, hopes, and faith. Making a resolution to change the way they honor God in raising their children, these men show what it really means to be Courageous.

Courageous is Sherwood Pictures’ fourth film and it spent just over four weeks on the big screen in the box office top 10!! For a family friendly, Christian, faith based movie, that is just AMAZING!

The Courageous movie will be released on January 17th on both DVD & Blu-ray.

After watching the movie, we got a chance to see what the DVD bonus features had. Packed with behind the scenes clips, stories from Sherwood Pictures volunteers, and funny outtakes and bloopers, the bonus features were just as much fun to watch as the movie.

There will also be an Exclusive Collectors Edition available on at CBA retailers that will boast more than two hours of special features including the 22 minute The Making of Courageous, a Casting Crown video, outtakes and more.

I’ve said this before and meant it than, but never as much as I do now..
