First let me say.. this post is 100% all me.. I wasn’t paid or given anything to write this.. it’s just me.. rambling on a bit about something that has been on my heart lately
The hubster and I watched Hungry For Change ( It’s FREE for the next 13 Hours!!) the other night and really enjoyed it.
You see, I’m a firm believer that I was created for a purpose. And if I’m not taking care of myself.. eating right, exercising, and so on.. how am I supposed to live out what God has put me here to do?..
God has been bringing more and more information into our lives about how to take better care of our bodies and we are definitely seeing the positive results from what we’ve done with all that information. More energy, weight loss, over all feeling TONS better.
Also, as my girls get older, the hubster and I want to be around for weddings and grandbabies and all that other good stuff that comes along with getting older, so we WANT to take better care of ourselves.
So, watching films like Hungry for Change help in that.
LET ME SAY though.. Hungry for Change, Food Inc, Food Matters, and most others documentaries that have come out , are NOT from a Christian perspective.
In fact you’re probably going to hear some new age or evolutionary type speak in there, but if you look beyond that.. you can really glean a lot of great information.
What has struck me in watching these and seeing more and more ‘scientific’ findings of how vegetables and such are the cure for so many diseases.. is that it all stems back to what God has created for us to eat in the first place.
I won’t get too long winded about how I feel about all this, but it does break my heart to see people around me JUST DON’T CARE what they are putting in their bodies. They complain about not feeling well, being over weight or having no energy, but don’t want to do anything about it.
Here (with these movies and shows like Dr. Oz) we are being blessed with being able to learn more and more of what our country has done to our food system, what foods we can eat that are good for us, and what vitamins and supplements can help.. and we need to take advantage of it.
America is one of the leading countries in Cancer deaths
America is leading in obesity ratings
and so much more…
If you have some time today.. take this opportunity to sit and watch Hungry for Change..It’s free!! All you have to do is put your first name and email address in.. that’s all.
Some of the things I learned while watching Hungry for Change:
“ We’re not eating food anymore.. We’re eating food like products.” ~ Hungry For Change
MSG – mono sodium glutimate is in 80% of all food & it’s addictive
They give MSG to mice to FATTEN them up – you can Google it and see..
Caffeine & aspartame kills off brain cells – oh no!! There goes my Diet Coke and lime..
!!! Manufacturers of our food, pay for the studies they submit to the government – that means they can pay to have the studies say anything they want.. like MSG is ok for you.. !!
This made me LOL and sick at the same time –
They started talking about fake blueberries (like the ones in muffins and cereal) and what the main ingredient was – propylene glycol – and as soon as they said that.. the hubster piped up and said – that’s antifreeze!!! YUP!!! Eww! They even went on to show that.. ugh.
“It’s illegal to give kids alcohol and drugs, as it should be, but it’s totally legal to dose them up on hundreds of grams of sugar that’s killing them each year” ~Hungry for Change
If you have Netflix or access to Food Inc., Food Matters, and or Forks Over Knives.. watch them.
Have a blessed and healthy weekend!!
