Sidelined by injuries from a vicious assault, nurse chaplain Riley Hale is determined to return to ER duties. But how can she show she’s competent when the hospital won’t let her attempt even simple tasks? Determined to prove herself, Riley volunteers at a controversial urban free clinic despite her fears about the maverick doctor in charge.
Dr. Jack Travis defends his clinic like he’s commander of the Alamo. He’ll fight the community’s efforts to shut its doors, even if he must use Riley Hale’s influential family name to make it happen.
As Riley strives to regain her skills, Jack finds that she shares his compassion—and stirs his lonely heart. Riley senses that beneath Jack’s rough exterior is a man she can believe in. But when clinic protests escalate and questions surface about his past, Jack goes into battle mode, and Riley wonders if it’s dangerous to trust him with her heart.
My Review of Trauma Plan by Candace Calvert:
Do you remember the little orphan in the movie Annie? You know .. the one who kept saying
Well that was me over the past 3 days.
As I kept turning the pages of Candace Calvert’s newest book, Trauma Plan, I kept saying to myself
The first in a new series, Grace Medical from Candace, Trauma Plan does not falter one bit when it comes to storyline!
I have read a lot of books, but Candace’s books always keep me in my reading spot for LONG periods of time and Trauma Plan did that exact thing!
The Characters – WOW! A great set of characters – each complex with their own interesting storylines. I was engrossed in trying to figure out how Vesta and Doctor Travis were connected. KUDOS to you Candace Calvert for keeping me guessing on that one. And Griff… Oh my!! I did NOT see that one coming.
I loved Rylee basically from the get go . Her drive to want to be something more but also her willingness to allow God to lead. I loved the fact that she had a quiet spunk to her and was willing to ‘spit in the face of fear’ even when she was scared to death.
And Hobo- who couldn’t love Hobo! What an adorable way to tie in a cute, spunky little dog!
The Storyline – was very intriguing. I have no medical background at all, but this one kept my heart racing! Quite a few different stories going on, but it was all wrapped up in such a way that it flowed effortlessly.
I don’t what else I can say .. but, after reading Trauma Plan I will be eagerly awaiting Book 2 in the Grace Medical Series!
