My #NowWellness Product Review
I have had a BLAST being a Now Wellness Ambassador throughout the month of June. It’s been so much fun testing and using all these healthy products, trying new recipes, and sharing them with you all via my blog and my other social media outlets. I hope you’ve been following along.
Now that the campaign is coming to a close, I thought I would take a minute to share my final thoughts about the Now Foods products I received.
Now Sports Protein Powders
I am not an everyday workout girl, but I try to get a 3 mile walk or run in as often as I can each week. After each walk/run I try to make a nice smoothie or shake to refuel with. In the past I have always had a hard time finding protein powders that don’t have any milk/whey products in them. So, I was thrilled to find out that both the Sprouted Brown Rice Protein Powder and the Creamy Vanilla Protein Complex are dairy free! I especially liked that the Creamy Vanilla Protein Complex had 22 g of Protein in one single scoop!
Both the protein powders were quite delicious. The Sprouted Brown Rice Powder did have a rice flavor to it, but if you mixed it with some good ingredients like fruit and spinach, the taste went away.
Now Solutions – Beauty Products
These products were the most fun to try out. Since I started really focusing on a more healthy lifestyle, I have been slow on trying more healthy, natural products. There are a lot of choices out there, so it was nice to be able to experience what these products are like.
Here is my video that I made reviewing most of the Now Solutions..
Herbal Revival Shampoo and Conditioner – This is one of the moments as a blogger that isn’t fun, but I want to be honest with you the reader, so here it goes… I didn’t like the shampoo and conditioner. I tried it for a two weeks and finally had to give up. The shampoo didn’t lather up but it also didn’t leave my hair feeling like it was clean. The conditioner unfortunately left me hair feeling like there was leftover residue on my hair. I was really hoping to like these products, but they just didn’t work for my hair type.
Vitamin d-3 Cream – Ok, this was my FAVORITE beauty product. My family and I have already used the bottle I was given and they are patiently waiting for me to order more. The cream has a great light citrus scent and my hands feel great. Not only that, I love the fact that there is a daily dose of Vitamin D in each gram!
Sweet Almond Oil – I really wasn’t sure how I was going to review this product, but now that I’ve done a little research, I have been using it like CRAZY around my house! I made Homemade Hand Scrub with it, use it as a carrier oil for other essential oils, and I even rub it on my face when it’s feeling dry or I’ve got those yucky dark circles under my eyes. I LOVE this Sweet Almond Oil!
Xyliwhite Neem & Tea Tree Toothpaste – this was probably the one product that my husband was most leary about trying. He likes his minty, fluoride rich toothpaste from the corner store, so when I told him we would be trying this toothpaste for a few weeks, he just sighed and said ‘OK’. Well, now we are a few weeks later and we both are really enjoying this toothpaste.
It doesn’t get all foamy in your mouth like regular toothpaste, but that’s a good thing. The taste actually was mild and very easy to get used to. We both also noticed that our teeth actually feel better after brushing and look cleaner and whiter.
I have been a fan and purchaser of Now Supplements for years. I can always count on their supplements to be nothing but just supplements – no weird ingredients or fillers, just the supplement that I’m looking for at a good price.
The supplements that I received to review were ones that I hadn’t tried before, so that was exciting.
Biotin – Biotin is something that as I get older (I won’t say how old) I’m appreciating more and more. I’ve noticed that my hair is getting thinner and so are my nails. Taking Biotin helps improve both of these and also helps my immune system at the same time. I’ve noticed that since I’ve been taking this Biotin twice a day, my nails seem a bit stronger. My nails usually break pretty easily, but I’ve actually been able to keep some length on them.
Probiotic 10 – ok, totally honesty here, I have NOT gotten on a good regimen of taking Probiotics. I know I should, but it always seemed like one more pill I had to take so I just didn’t bother. Yet I know they are good for me. Probiotics are good microorganisms and who doesn’t want microorganisms right?
So having these Probiotic 10 packets were nice because I could just add them to any drink I was having during the day. They are unflavored and dissolve pretty easily. I always put them in something flavored like infused water or green tea, so I’m not a 100% positive that they don’t have a taste, but seeing you only have to put in a 4 to 6 ounce glass, you probably wouldn’t notice if it did.
Now to the yummy part..
Slender Sticks – If you follow me on Instagram (or look to feed on my blog sidebar) you’ll see that I have been taking these with me everywhere. The Acai Lemonade flavor is awesome and delicious! I love that doesn’t have any yucky ingredients and makes my water takes AMAZING!

Avocado Oil is an excellent oil to cook with because it is ideal for high heat cooking and really doesn’t have a strong flavor. I enjoyed using it to saute vegetables and to toss vegetables in to roast. This Ellyndale Avocado Oil is even an award winner!
Grocery Headquarters Magazine recognized Ellyndale Naturals Gourmet Avocado Oil as a 2015 Selling Wellness Trailblazer Award Winner in the Specialty Food Category for its quality and innovation.
The Ellyndale Coconut Oil Infusion with Garlic was interesting to cook with. The oil does have a strong coconut smell and that had me worried, but once I cooked with it a few times I realized it really didn’t effect the taste. I recently made a delicious ‘not so beef’ and broccoli dish using the oil and it tasted delicious.
Living Now All-Purpose Gluten-Free Flour – Having been a gluten-free home for years now, I always have gluten-free flour in the home and make my own all purpose blend, but sometimes… I just don’t feel like doing it.
Having the All-Purpose Gluten-free flour blend was nice to have. Already mixed, Non GMO, and free from most allergens, I was able to make my favorite Focaccia bread recipe in no time flat. I can see myself buying a few more boxes of these because they were very handy to have on hand when trying to fix a nice gluten-free meal last minute.
Tri-Color Quinoa – Quinoa is one my favorite gluten-free grains. It makes an amazing side dish and works well with all different kinds of ingredients and recipes.
The Tri-Color Quinoa cooked up beautifully and the tasted light and delicious. I especially enjoyed that it was a tri-color mix. It made the Quinoa Tabbouleh Salad I made look and taste great! Being Organic and free from all the top allergens, just put it at the top of my favorites too.
Organic Toasted Hemp Seeds – these little vitamin and mineral packed seeds are slowly growing on me. I’ve tried to add them into a couple of dishes and just can’t seem to find a right fit. I do enjoy sprinkling them over top a salad and my husband likes to eat them straight out of the bag.
I really do want to find some more ways of using these hemp seeds because they are huge source of protein, Iron, and Fiber… all of which I can use more of.
Thank you for following along..
Having this opportunity to be a NowWellness Ambassador has been a thrill for me. Not only have I had the chance to share my love for organic, Non GMO, healthy products and food, but I have also had the chance to work with a company that I have purchased products from in the past and have been very happy with.
Now Foods has been a “Helping Hand” company since 1968 and they still stand firm on their Core Values, which I think is pretty awesome.
As for me, I have been able to share my thoughts and even recipes with you as I’ve tried each product. I hope that you have not only enjoyed following along, but have been inspired to look for more healthier choices for yourself and your loved ones.
