I’m not sure if you know this or not, but I am very blessed mom to two beautiful young women.
I say young women because they are both in their early 20’s. My oldest is 25 and my youngest is 23. Each has their own wonderful personality, and to this mama’s happiness, they still enjoy hanging out with mom every once and awhile.
Just the other night, I had the opportunity to watch the movie Miracles from Heaven with my oldest daughter. Watching this touching movie with her had me thinking about all little things in my life that I am thankful for.
Miracles From Heaven
When Miracles from Heaven was first released in theaters, I went to see it with a dear friend of mine. I had a basic knowledge of what the movie was about, but was really surprised at how much I loved this film.
It was heart wrenching at times to watch. At one point, I wanted to stand up and scream at the doctors with the mom, yet, in the end, it was worth all the crazy emotions. This amazing story of love, faith, and believing in miracles not only had me crying, but it also had me cheering for God’s amazing love and mercy.
Being Thankful For The Little Things ~ #ShareYourMiracles
When I saw that Miracles from Heaven had been released on DVD, I knew I wanted to get a copy. It wasn’t until I went to get the movie that I also saw that with every copy purchased, $1 is donated to the Children’s Miracle Fund. I didn’t really need an extra incentive to buy the movie, but it made me feel good knowing I was helping other families in some way.
Once I got home, I asked my daughter if she wanted to watch it with me. She had had a long day at work and was more than happy to just chill with mom for a little bit.
It was while we were sitting there, just the two of us, enjoying the movie, that I started to think of all the little ‘miracles’ in my life. From just the fact that I was able to give birth to two beautiful, healthy, and happy little girls, to knowing that they too have their very own personal relationship with Christ, these are my little ‘miracles’ that I am thankful for.
Just like the Beam family in Miracles from Heaven, we truly value our family. It hasn’t always been easy, nor has it been perfect, but I wouldn’t give it up for anything. It’s times like the other night, just sitting and watching a movie with my daughter, that make me very thankful for all that has been given to me.
